چکیده

Abstract The methodology of comprehensive risk assessment for natural disasters has been the subject recent research. process is thoroughly explained and applied to geological hazards (such as landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis) that have a potential calamity. Obtaining complicated level few geophysical risks in northeast Bulgaria major goal. It done clearly identify many dangers, their effects, elements at risk, exposure, vulnerability, well analyze secondary events were generated. For first time practice, thorough approach used, it incorporates idea perception. methodology’s adaptability enables presentation results either matrix or profile. depends on tasks, challenges, scientific puzzles need be solved expert judgment. outcome showed strong practical applicability sustainability.

Fatty acids composition of macroalgae from Bulgarian Black Sea coast

Lipids and fatty acids (FA) composition of three Black Sea macroalgae Cladophora vagabunda, Ceramium rubrum and Cystoseira barbata were studied. Fatty acids composition was analyzed by GC/MS. Total lipids content varied widely among the species and ranged between 0.66 and 0.98 g per 100 g fresh weight. Generally, saturated fatty acids were major components (62–71%), with 16:0 as the most abunda...

Lipophylic compounds from Euphorbia peplis L.--a halophytic plant from the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

The chemical composition of the lipophylic fraction from the halophytic plant Euphorbia peplis L. was investigated. Compared to other terrestrial higher plants an increase of triacylglycerols and especially of glycolipids was observed. The main phospholipid was phosphatidyl choline, followed by almost equal concentrations of phosphatidyl ethanolamine and phosphatidyl glycerol. A relatively high...

Geospatial Risk Assessment of North Coast Watersheds in California

Researchers at the Information Center for the Environment (ICE) are using ArcGIS to inventory and monitor environmental risks to California’s north, coastal watersheds. In collaboration with state agencies, ICE has created a comprehensive GIS for selected watersheds in which water quality improvement and endangered species recovery is paramount. ICE has leveraged hyperspectral imagery, extensiv...

Application of eutrophication indices for assessment of the Bulgarian Black Sea coastal ecosystem ecological quality.

The present paper is an attempt to test the applicability of the trophic state index (TRIX) for scaling the eutrophication along the Bulgarian Black Sea coastal zone in concert with a number of chemical and biological descriptors aimed at selection of relevant indicators of marine coastal area ecological quality. The following environmental parameters have been considered: t(o), salinity, nutri...
